FLYING FISH COVE
Flying Fish Cove emerges as a highlight for accessible beach exploration. Its commercial jetty features a ramp leading directly to the water's edge, providing a seamless experience. During high tide, ocean access becomes even more effortless, making it an ideal spot for snorkelling enthusiasts with good swimming abilities. A Sea Scooter Tour with Freedive CI is a great way to explore the spectacular reef for those who have lower fitness ability, are less confident swimmers or have injuries that may limit their confidence in the water.
LILY BEACH
Lily Beach caters to accessibility with parking facilities and access to a coral rubble beach visible from the parking area. Gazebos and a BBQ area add to the convenience, offering a delightful setting for a relaxed day by the sea.
CHRISTMAS ISLAND NATIONAL PARK
While the National Park poses some challenges, two areas offer wheelchair accessibility based on individual circumstances. The Blowholes feature a compacted gravel pathway leading to a fenced boardwalk with stunning views. Martin Point, accessible via a wide dirt track, showcases beautiful sea cliffs and ocean views. Access to The Blowholes requires a 4WD vehicle, and the National Park staff is available to address any queries at 08 9164 8700 or christmasislandnp@environment.gov.au.
