Travel along the coast road past the Grotto and the Golf Course to the Ma Chor Nui Nui Chinese Temple, dedicated to the ‘Goddess of the Sea’. Learn about the islands colorful past including its discovery in 1888. Continue to the former Casino Resort Hotel and return via the Settlement past the Malay Kampong and along the shoreline of the picturesque Flying Fish Cove and on to Tai Jin House, see the army quarters and gun placements at Smiths Point. Discover the islands history during the Japanese invasion in World War II. Travel past the commercial business area including Government Administration, bank, post office and phosphate mine port facilities and up Murray Hill Road to the main Chinese community area of Poon San, see the islands Outdoor Movie Theatre and Chinese restaurants. Travel up through Drum Site past the National Parks offices, and local school, to the recently constructed Recreation Centre, local Cricket Ground and community Hospital. Return to settlement
Explore Christmas Islands natural jungle and its local inhabitants - the Endemic Christmas Island Red Crabs.

Discover their secrets and learn of their annual fight for survival, their spectacular annual migration, their predators, life cycle and routines. Visit sightings with destinations decided on the day. Please note the actual Migration of the Red Crabs can occur anytime from October to December each year. This tour is designed to show you and teach you as much as possible about the Red Crabs and their life on Christmas Island.

Departing from the settlement area, we travel inland to the Christmas Island National Park along the North South Baseline road, turning off the two wheel drive track onto the scenic four wheel drive jungle trail towards Grants Well. Passing the Educational Research Station "The Pink House" and Jedda Cave, witness the density and beauty of the tropical jungle and perhaps come across some of the local wild life found in the area. We then head towards our goal, The Dales and Hugh’s Dale Waterfall! Enjoy the beautiful board walk shaded by the jungles canopy. Catch sight of Red, Blue or Ghost Crabs and colorful Robber Crabs as they go about their daily business of cleaning the jungle’s floor. Photograph the soaring Tahitian Chestnuts and their beautifully tortured root systems and spend time exploring or refreshing under the cool waterfall.
Providing excellent sightings of Christmas Islands Endemic Bird Species with picturesque views and photographic opportunities, for the novice or expert Birder!

Starting in the settlement area, we view the exquisite Silver Bosun Birds before traveling to an elevated look out to witness the soaring Frigates Birds above the Golf Course, with excellent photographic opportunities. Stopping along the way for the low roosting Red Footed Booby Birds, we travel to Lily beach where we head inland via an easy board walk track though the jungle, to witness scurrying red crabs and the Brown Booby Birds stopping at Ethal beach. Onto Margaret’s Knoll to view endemic Golden Bosun Bird sightings and to witness some close encounters of nesting sights for the Brown Booby Birds and their chicks. On occasion the endemic Christmas Island Flying Foxes and on rare occasions the Endangered Abbott’s Booby, can also be seen from this vantage point. Continuing south we visit Margaret's Knoll for views of the rugged east coast along to the southern tip and finishing our afternoon of sights at Territory Day Park with views of the picturesque Flyer Fish Cove.

Embrace the wondrous beauty of the island’s National Park as we travel though the centre of the island and Grants Well. After we pass Dean’s Point look out we continue our journey in 4WD to Greta Beach, where, when in season we can spot nesting Green Turtles! Enjoy a bracing yet elating Four Wheel Drive experience to the tracks end, before commencing a fascinating walk though the rainforest jungle to reach the beautiful palm fringed Dolly Beach. After a scrumptious picnic lunch with the visiting Robber Crabs, explore the beach and surrounding areas or enjoy a refreshing dip in one of the many rock pools. Enjoy your photographic memories of this beautiful beach and jungle drop before a casual walk back to the car park and an adventurous return drive up the incline before heading back to settlement.
